Hon. Bashe Mohamed Farah (Adde), the Speaker of Somaliland House of Representatives, and a group of politicians from Sool, Sanaag and Buhoodle (SSB) regions have left for Las Anod District to attend a ceremony for Launching Voter Registration Program which is expected to start tomorrow, Thursday – sources confirmed.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somaliland, 3rd Vice Deputy Chairman of KULMIYE Party, Members of Parliament, and officials from government and opposition parties are among the delegates led by Hon. Speaker Bashe.
SSB Politicians who are currently on their way to the regional capital of Sool include Mr Atash and Mr Khalif, two prominent politicians who previously served as ministers in the government of President Silanyo.
Mr. Abdirizak Atash, a moderate politician, businessman and former Minister of Communications in the Silanyo government, is now a highly anticipated member of parliament for the upcoming election of Somaliland House of Representatives. According to sources close to the candidate, Mr. Atash will be running with KULMIYE party ticket, a party for which he was a cabinet member.
Meanwhile, Mr. Abdirizak Khalif, who, too, served as a minister during President Silanyo’s government, is one of the members of Hon. Bashe’s delegation. Mr. Khalif is expected to announce his candidacy for Somaliland House of Representatives soon under the banner of the WADDANI Party, of which he is currently the Deputy Speaker.
Also, lawmakers and other politicians in the delegation include Somaliland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Yassin Mohamud Faraton, KULMIYE’s third deputy chairman Hussein Aden Adde, and MP Advocate Mohamed Jama Abdi.
